Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sondra ("Service"), operated by Sondra Labs Ltd. ("we", "us", "our") at sondra.app.
By using Sondra, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Sondra provides AI-powered audio and video processing tools, including noise cancellation, file compression, subtitle generation, and related features. We offer the Service on a Freemium basis — a free tier with limited features, and paid plans (Pro and Business) with expanded capabilities.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sondra (or 16 in EU member states where applicable). By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
If you are using Sondra on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and "you" refers to that entity.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must notify us immediately at support@sondra.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent — all your data will be erased.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Sondra only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Upload files that you do not own or do not have the right to process
- Upload files containing illegal content, including content that exploits or harms minors
- Use the Service to infringe third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or disrupt the Service
- Use automated tools to access the Service in a way that exceeds normal usage (except via our official API with a Business plan)
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice in serious cases.
5. Your Files
You own your files. Uploading a file to Sondra does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights to us.
By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, temporary, non-exclusive licence to process that file solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence expires when the file is deleted according to our retention schedule.
We do not review the content of your files. We are not liable for the content of files uploaded by users.
6. DMCA and Copyright
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe that content processed through Sondra infringes your copyright, please send a notice to legal@sondra.app including:
- Identification of the copyrighted work
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material
- Your contact information
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorised
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder
We will respond to valid DMCA notices promptly. We operate as a passive conduit under the DMCA safe harbour provisions — we do not store files beyond the periods described in our Privacy Policy and do not review file content.
7. Plans and Payments
7.1 Free Plan
The Free plan is provided at no cost and includes limited processing capacity (3 jobs per day, 100MB file size limit, watermark on output). We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Free plan at any time with 30 days' notice to registered users.
7.2 Paid Plans (Pro and Business)
Paid plans are billed as follows:

Annual plans are billed upfront. Monthly plans are billed on the same day each month.
14-day free trial: New Pro subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, you will be charged unless you cancel beforehand.
7.3 Credit Model
Credits for pay-as-you-go processing are purchased in advance and never expire. Credits are non-refundable once consumed. Minimum purchase: $5.
7.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer partial refunds for unused periods, except where required by law.
7.5 Refunds
If you experience a technical failure on our part that prevents you from using the Service, contact support@sondra.app within 14 days and we will assess your case. Refunds are issued at our discretion, except where required by applicable consumer law (including EU and UK consumer rights regulations).
8. Availability and Changes
We aim for 99.5% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability — we will provide reasonable advance notice where possible.
We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. For material changes that affect paid plans, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
9. Intellectual Property
Sondra and all related software, designs, logos, and content are owned by Sondra Labs Ltd. and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited right to use the Service.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that noise cancellation or compression will achieve any specific quality outcome — results depend on source file quality and processing settings.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or
- $100 USD
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION].
If you have a dispute with us, please contact support@sondra.app first — we will do our best to resolve it informally. If we cannot reach a resolution within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to the courts of [JURISDICTION].
EU and UK users: Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
